Typewriters, typewriters, everywhere typewriters

"Typewriter philosophy" is the name we have decided for what we do. We recondition, restore, and repair typewriters. It is, in part, one of the purposes of our lives, namely, to bring back to life these pieces of history lost in the basements and forgotten in the mists of time. We are a family of collectors who have been dealing with typewriters for many years out of passion and curiosity.

All the typewriters that appear on the website or on our associated channels have been repaired, restored, or cleaned by us, they, at the beginning, being in a very advanced state of corrosion. In time, we realized that other people could enjoy these wonders of the mechanics that are in danger of disappearance. And here we are!

"Typewriter Philosophy" was no doubt the name. What happens behind the scenes of repairing and reconditioning a typewriter is beyond imagination. All experiences with these jewels turn into a philosophy that we deepen every time we repair or use them.

Reconditioning is a difficult job, sometimes lasting days or weeks. Every part counts for the typewriter to work properly. Often, a single screw of a few millimeters ensures the functionality of the whole typewriter. This is all the more impressive since these pieces are no longer fabricated anywhere.

When it comes to using them for writing, we can say that the combination of the contemplative sound of the keys with our physical movements and the mechanical movements of the typewriter, are activated in tandem and give us a different understanding of writing. We relate differently to our creativity which is positively influenced in relation to such a mysterious element today as the typewriter.
